The National Museum of Art of Romania and Balassi Institute - the Hungarian Institute in Bucharest present the Hungarian contemporary photos exhibition Attila Bartis. On The Isles.
This is the second event organized through the partnership between the two cultural institutions. On this occasion, visitors will meet a fascinating photographer, by the themes he chooses and by the force of expression of his images.

Proposed by the autor under the title On The Isles, these works are inspired by the Java Island - where the artist mostly lives and creates. Through his lenses, the artist shows us that world, not as a strange exotic place but as a background for pure life experiences.
Looking at the photos we understand the artist’s ”belief in the abstract quality of black-and-white, in the transcendence of light, in the metaphor in the shadows” - according to the comments of the exhibition curator, art historian Petrányi Zsolt.
The exhibition was opened on Tuesday, 17 September 2019, in the Auditorium Hall. It was attended by the artist Attila Bartis, Arh. Liviu Constantinescu - director of The National Museum of Art of Romania, Mr Kósa András László - director of Balassi Hungarian Institute in Bucarest, Mrs Brendus Réka - director in the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary and the art historian Petrányi Zsolt.

Entry to the Auditorium Hall of The National Museum of Art of Romania is at no. 1-3, Știrbei Vodă Street
