The National Museum of Art of Romania offers its visitors of all ages a wide variety of attractive programmes designed to meet their expectations and needs. Adults, teenagers or children can choose at least one type of programme from the selection put forward by the Museum.
The Department of Education, Communication and Cultural Projects, responsible for organising the programmes for the public, has a young staff trained in communicating with all kinds of visitors and in revealing the art’s secrets to them. Since 2000, when they were launched, the programmes for the public have enjoyed a remarkable success and continue to attract large numbers of visitors. In 2006, around 5,000 preschool and school children took part in the programmes organised for kindergartens and grade schools, and 3,120 people attended the family programmes.
The programmes for kindergartens and grade schools, families, adults and the Special events are different forms of communicating with the public and turn the Museum into a dynamic institution. The methods employed during the programmes make use of the visitors’ interactivity, observation, imagination and ability of analysis, aiming at getting them acquainted with art and making them spend their free time in an interesting and pleasant way.
The Museum offers two types of programmes: with individual participation, which requires the participants’ nominal application; and for organised groups (preschool children, students or tourists), for which the booking should be done by the leader of the group.
