Tickets are free of charge for:

  • Journalists working in cultural departments, members of the Artists Union, war veterans, soldiers on leave, pre-school children, students of fine arts schools
  • The employees of the Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs
  • The employees of the departments and institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs
  • The employees of the museums’ network in Romania
  • The employees of the National Research Institute for Conservation and Restoration
  • The holders of ICOM cards
  • Official delegations, with the approval of the Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs, within the museum’s opening hours
  • the members of Friends of the NMAR association

The ticket is valid throughout the day. Visitors are kindly requested to keep the ticket for verification.

Visitors have to leave large handbags, rucksacks, packages, umbrellas etc. at the museum’s cloakroom.

Access with food and drinks in the exhibition areas is strictly forbidden.Visitors with disabilities: the exhibition areas are accessible for accompanied people in wheelchairs.


Guided Tours:
The museum offers guided tours in Romanian, English and French for groups of up to 25 persons. Advance booking (3 days) is required.

Photography and video recording are allowed for private purposes only. No flash and/or tripods can be used.

Reproduction rights for the images of the museum’s art works

The reproduction rights will be applied only based on an explicit request made by the publishing houses, press agencies etc., stating the details regarding the publication (e.g.: type, site, sizes, number of copies, language/languages of the edition, etc.).

Fees:

  • One reproduction, in one edition, in one language, in: books, magazine articles, CDs, DVDs, sites, films, trailers, television programmes, colour or black and white - 100 Euro; the right to re-use photographs or details previously obtained – 40 Euro
  • Cover – 150 Euro
  • Calendar – 200 Euro
  • Card – 200 Euro
  • Postcard – 200 Euro
  • Media cover (e.g. CD, CD-ROM etc.) – 350 Euro
  • Advertisement – according to the duration and number of broadcasts
  • Re-use in other editions or in editions published in other languages:
    • Edition in 2 languages – 50 Euro
    • Edition in 3 languages – 70 Euro
    • Edition in 4 languages – 100 Euro

The fees for reproduction rights can be discounted (50% to 75%), or it is possible that no fee is charged for original research papers, or for contributions to the museum’s press campaigns, if the museum is able to cover its own expenses.

The rights will be granted for a limited period of 1 year.

It is not allowed to photograph and/or film the works which are in custody or are the object of litigations.

The works will be photographed and/or filmed according to the existing conservation norms.

Renting colour slides:
3 months rental – 50 Euro
Each month of delay over the 3 paid months – 70 Euro

The rights for using images
It is considered felony to reproduce in any way the texts and images presented on the site of the National Museum of Art of Romania.
The Romanian penal law protects citizens against any felony regarding copywrite.

The Romanian penal law is applied to felonies carried out on Romanian territory, or to felonies carried out by a Romanian citizen on the territory of another state, by a foreign or stateless citizen against the rights of physical or juridical persons, or against public institutions in Romania.
